For more than 40 years AB (joint stock company) EKRANAS has been manufacturing products of a highly sophisticated technology: glass components – (panels and funnels), colour TV tubes and electron gun systems. It’s the only manufacturer of TV tubes in the Baltic States. EKRANAS is a privately owned company that became a foreign capital enterprise in 1995. Presently, foreign investors are holding more than half of the company shares.

EKRANAS today

Today EKRANAS is an enterprise, which successfully operates in the international markets, exporting 70% of its production to the Western European countries. Investments reaching up to several millions of litas spent for the modernization of the production are already paying off. The company is capable of manufacturing and selling more than 7 million items of high quality colour TV tubes per year. In September 2002, following the trends of the worldwide market of electronics the company began manufacturing a true flat tube model.
 
In May 2003 EKRANAS offered its clients high quality 15" TF tubes. In December 2003 this product got a  "Lithuanian product of the year 2003" medal.

In 2004 the screen coating line made up by specialists of EKRANAS was named "Lithuanian product of the year 2004" and got gold medal.

According to the company’s indicators of turnover and profit EKRANAS is at the top of Lithuanian enterprises.

In September 2004 EKRANAS put into operation the fourth new assembly line. The new assembly line will produce 1.6 m. units colour picture tubes of small and medium sizes per year. With this line, the Company increase the annual production capacities up to 7 m. tubes. Due to this, 500 working places will be introduced.

Plans for the future

EKRANAS is intending to pay great attention towards the development of production and its improvement in the future, too.

In the future flat colour picture tubes of long diagonal will be  implemented by the Company. 

As new development and future grow of EKRANAS, the company will invest significant amount on development of a new product – Slim Type CPT Technology and to start mass production in 2006.

The Board also decided to make feasibility study for LCD assembly in EKRANAS.
