Three tubes assembly lines in “Ekranas” AB is carried out as usual
Currently all three tube assembly lines are operating in AB „Ekranas“. In March it is intended to produce and sell over 400 thous. pieces of tubes. The production and sales of tubes over the Q1 will comprise 1235,5 thous. pcs. which is by 44% more than in Q1 of last year, when the sales made 856 thous. pcs.
In the middle of March, the meeting of the Board of EDIA (European Display Industry Association), the president of which is the Vice-Chairman of the Board of AB “Ekranas” Aydin Giz, adopted an unanimous resolution to approach the Vice-President of the European Commission Gunter Verheugen with respect to the problems faced by the display industry in Europe. It is the intention of the meeting to deliberate on the negative effect of unfair competition practiced by the third countries to the European electronics industry and negotiate the financial support as well as the development of the united policy of European electronics industry.
The meeting of the high official of Directorate General of Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission Costas Andropolous and the major representatives of the European electronics industry to discuss the mentioned issues is to take place already this week.
Furthermore, on March 16 the President of EDIA Aydin Giz submitted an application to the European Anti-Fraud Office of the European Commission (OLAF) regarding carrying out of a detail investigation related to the unfair imports of 14” color tubes from the third countries to the European Union.
